Waiting On Wednesday – 79

Hello gentle reader,

today I’m waiting on THE RAVEN KING (The Raven Cycle #4) by Maggie Stiefvater (expected publication: 26th April 2016 by Scholastic Press). I waited until the cover reveal to write this post, even though I’ve been dying to read this book since I finished reading BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE. This is such a fantastic YA Fantasy series, if you haven’t read them yet, I can only recommend you pick up the first books before the final one comes out.

NB: This post doesn’t have any spoilers 🙂

From Goodreads:

The fourth and final installment in the spellbinding series from the irrepressible, #1 New York Times bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater.

All her life, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love’s death. She doesn’t believe in true love and never thought this would be a problem, but as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.

In a starred review for Blue Lily, Lily Blue, Kirkus Reviews declared: “Expect this truly one-of-a-kind series to come to a thundering close.”

Waiting On Wednesday – 53

Hello gentle reader,

today I’m waiting on BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE by Maggie Stiefvater (expected publication: 21st October 2014 by Scholastic Press). It’s a YA Fantasy book and the third book in the Raven Cycle which will comprise four books. I absolutely loved THE RAVEN BOYS and THE DREAM THIEVES, and I cannot wait to read this book. The Raven Cycle is one of the most unique YA Fantasy I’ve read, with amazing writing and characters. I’m really looking forward to finding out where Maggie Stiefvater takes us with this third installment!

From Goodreads (no spoilers if you haven’t read Books 1 & 2):

There is danger in dreaming. But there is even more danger in waking up.

Blue Sargent has found things. For the first time in her life, she has friends she can trust, a group to which she can belong. The Raven Boys have taken her in as one of their own. Their problems have become hers, and her problems have become theirs.

The trick with found things though, is how easily they can be lost.

Friends can betray.
Mothers can disappear.
Visions can mislead.
Certainties can unravel.

Waiting On Wednesday – 24

Hello gentle reader,

This week I’m waiting on The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater (Expected publication: September 17th 2013 by Scholastic Press).

The Dream Thieves

This will be Book 2 in The Raven Cycle and I can’t wait to read it. The Raven Boys (a YA Low Fantasy) was definitely one of my favourite 2012 releases. I read it thinking it was a stand-alone book, then found out only weeks later it was part of a series… which makes sense considering the ending. Now I’m really looking forward to finding out what happens next to Blue and the boys.

If you haven’t picked up The Raven Boys yet, I suggest you do! Here is the blurb from Goodreads:

It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive.

Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her.

His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.

But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.

For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore.
