This week I was tagged in the Lucky 7 meme by the lovely Belle DiMonté.
Here are the rules:
1) Go to page 7 or 77 from your current WIP (work in progress)
2) Go to line 7
3) Copy down the next 7 lines–sentences or paragraphs–and post them as they’re written. No cheating!
4) Tag 7 authors and let them know
So here is an excerpt from The Last Queen, which I am currently editing:
She pushed a cup toward him and raised her own.
“To the God of Light!”
Then she drank her wine. Elian didn’t even move to take his cup. In his experience, if you kept very still and very quiet for a long time, people just gave up on trying to get anything out of you. But the girl wasn’t giving up so easily.
She poured herself more wine and went on.
“Like, for example, have you seen real Vampires in your life? I’m sure you have!”
And now the next 7 tagged writers are…
Thanks to Belle for tagging me !
Thank you EM for tagging me! The lines from your WiP are very enticing!
Also, I just wanted to say that I love how you posted the Lucky 7 Meme Challenge on July seventh – 7/7 – was that on purpose? Awesome anyway!
I’ll let you know when I post my response to this 🙂
Oh my, I hadn’t noticed today was July 7th… No, I mean, I totally did that on purpose 😉 Thanks for stopping by Amanda!
I love Elian’s attitude! Great 7 lines. Will try and post my 7 later on today. Thanks for the tag.
Thank you! I didn’t cheat and those actually are the seven lines from page 77 of my manuscript… But I must admit I wondered what feedback I would get, since I feel this excerpt is taken out of its context and very short…! However I like that it shows my main character, Elian. Thanks for stopping by!
That’s an awesome excerpt!
Thanks for the tag 😉
Thanks Juliana and you’re welcome! Glad you liked this short excerpt 🙂
This actually sounds like a lot of fun 🙂 Terrifying, but fun.
Happy Writing!
M.J. Wille, romantic sci-fi author
Thanks for the tag! I know what this is, but it’s my first time being tagged. My current WIP is a short story about three pages long so I might have to bend the rules a bit or use my other WIP. I’ll definitely have this up today, though! How exciting 🙂
You’re welcome Yesenia! I can’t wait to read your 7 lines 🙂
Just posted them! I’d love to hear what you think http://yeseniavargas.com/wip-snippet-lucky-7/
A bit late to the party here, but I finally got my butt in gear despite my lazy vacation attitude and posted my seven paragraphs. Thanks for tagging me. It’s a ton of fun to read snippets of people’s work.
